At home with Nisrine El Lababidi of Harf Noon 

As founder and creative director of Dubai-based Harf Noon Design Studio, and author of practical and inspirational interiors book, Homes: We Make Them, They Make Us, Nisrine’s driving passion has always been designing and creating spaces that reflect the people inhabiting them.

‘Our philosophy is deeply rooted in merging high-end and accessible elements to transform houses into homes full of personality and warmth,’ she explains of Harf Noon.

‘Understanding the lifestyles, values and memories of the people who live in a space is the starting point for every project.'

And, when it came to designing her own home, that starting point was no different.

‘I envisioned a warm and inviting space that would combine modern elegance with a touch of timeless charm,’ she tells us. ‘I wanted it to be a place that sparks creativity and offers a sense of peace and comfort, while still feeling fresh and contemporary.

‘The atmosphere is the perfect harmony between functionality and aesthetics, with thoughtfully chosen soft furnishings, colours, materials and scents, as well as details that make everyday living a joy.

‘It’s about curating an experience that reflects who we are as a family.’

In this project, as in all her work, Nisrine was keen to get the architectural details just right.

‘My work is all about understanding how intentional design can transform everyday living, and architectural details are the unsung heroes. They make every part of a space feel intentional and well-considered.
